Smile Oral and Dental Health Project
So, you can smile!
Dental diseases can limit an individual's capacity for biting, chewing, smiling, speaking, and overall psychosocial well-being. Furthermore, they pose a significant risk of chronic health problems, resulting in school and work absenteeism and negatively impacting employment and the workforce. This underscores the crucial role of oral and dental health in preserving an individual's overall health within society.
Recognizing the importance of accessible oral and dental health services for public health, the Türk Kızılay has initiated the Smile project. This initiative aims to address the physical and psychosocial needs of individuals in need, focusing on delivering mobile dental care services to those with limited means, disabled individuals, and children.
Treatment services will be extended to reach populations located away from city centers. Alongside examinations, treatment, and cleaning activities, the distribution of printed materials (booklets, brochures) promoting oral health and awareness will also take place.
The Türk Kızılay will conduct these activities in collaboration with dentists and various stakeholders, providing equipment and consumable material support.
Upon completion of the Türk Kızılay Smile (Oral and Dental Health) Project, individuals unable to access oral and dental health services offered by public and private sectors will benefit. Also, increased knowledge and awareness of oral and dental health in the community will contribute to the overall improvement of public health.
