Humanitarian Relief for Afghanistan

With increasing political tension, internal disturbance and violent conflicts experienced; Afghanistan is struggling with drought and a serious economic crisis, and has serious problems in accessing even basic food, health and hygiene materials. The collapse of the health system in the country and the lack of entry of medicines/medical supplies into the country have brought along the problems of not being able to treat the patients.
 
According to the United Nations World Health Organization (WHO) data; 3.2 million children and 700 thousand pregnant women in the country are deprived of basic nutrients and face the risk of malnutrition. According to the report of the United Nations Humanitarian Coordination Office (OCHA), it is expected that 22.8 million people will reach the hunger threshold in 2022 in the country with a population of 38 million.
 
Accordingly, the Turkish Red Crescent regularly carries out humanitarian aid activities in the region under the headings of food, health, sheltering materials, educational materials and clothing in order to stand by the friendly and brotherly Afghan people and to heal their wounds to some extent.
