Humanitarian Relief for Kyrgyzstan

In Kyrgyzstan with a population of 6.5 million, humanitarian aid activities were carried out as part of the Qurban and Ramadan Programs Abroad by the Turkish Red Crescent in the past years.

The disagreement between the people of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan for a water main on the border of two countries turned into a conflict on 28 April 2021. Many houses and workshops were damaged, 250 people were injured, 36 Kyrgyzstan and 19 Tajikistan citizens lost their lives due to the conflict. This conflict caused more than 40,000 Kyrgyzstan citizens to leave their home and was terminated on 30 April 2021.

Kyrgyzstan Humanitarian Aid Operation initiated on 9 May 2021 within the scope of response to humanitarian need occurred as a result of the mentioned tension contributed to the foundation of Turkish Red Crescent Kyrgyzstan Delegation Department for a long-term collaboration with the Kyrgyz Red Crescent Society.
Our Delegation Department carries out projects and activities in the areas of health, sheltering, food, non-food aid, psycho-social support, protection, water, sanitation-hygiene, education etc. in Kyrgyzstan.
