Following the dissolution of Yugoslavia, 110,000 people lost their lives and around 2 million people had to immigrate from their homeland during the war between 1992-1995 in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Turkish Red Crescent always supported the Bosnians during this period and has carried out several humanitarian aid activity since then.
In 2018, the fact that thousands of immigrants (mostly from Syria, Afghanistan, Iran and Iraq) took shelter in Bosnia-Herzegovina caused a crisis in the country. In order to collaborate with the Red Cross of Bosnia and Herzegovina and other stakeholders and to carry out humanitarian aid activities especially for the migrant crisis in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Turkish Red Crescent Bosnia-Herzegovina Delegation Department was founded.
Our Delegation Department carries out projects and activities in the areas of health, sheltering, food, non-food aid, psycho-social support, protection, water, sanitation-hygiene, education etc. for the needy people in the region
